BYLT Basics, founded in 2016 by Eric Mear in Costa Mesa, California, was created to provide high-quality, comfortable basics for an active, on-the-go lifestyle for both men and women. The name “BYLT” symbolizes “Built Your Life Today,” emphasizing the brand’s aim to offer versatile clothing that empowers and instills confidence in daily life. Initially, BYLT concentrated on developing their men’s line, which included premium basics like t-shirts, hoodies, and joggers made from technical fabrics such as modal and Supima cotton. The brand quickly gained popularity through effective social media and influencer marketing, even collaborating with ambassadors like basketball player Grayson Allen.

In 2019, BYLT expanded its range to include women’s clothing and accessories, maintaining its minimalist, functional aesthetic. A year later, the brand further diversified by introducing children’s wear, thus offering products for the entire family. As of today, BYLT not only ships to over 50 countries but has also evolved into an omnichannel brand.

Their products are available on their e-commerce site and through various retailers, including Nordstrom and Revolve. In 2022, BYLT opened its first physical retail store in Abbot Kinney, Venice, California, staying true to its Southern California roots. The brand remains committed to using premium fabrics and promoting a versatile, mix-and-match style while broadening its global reach. Over the past seven years, BYLT has rapidly grown from a modest men’s basics label to a comprehensive omnichannel brand, offering elevated apparel for men, women, and children, continuously embodying its founding mission of empowering customers through quality, comfort, and style.
