Lululemon New Parent Backpack Review: The Diaper Bag That Looks Like a Gym Bag

As a dad, you’ve got a lot to carry these days, but your gear doesn’t have to scream “diaper duty.” When rolling out with your newborn or infant, having a backpack that fits your style and meets your needs is essential.

The Lululemon New Parent Backpack is a solid answer to this. It’s got that gym bag look you’re used to, but it’s loaded with features you’ll need as a new parent.

Lululemon New Parent Backpack Review

InsideHook’s Alex Lauer recently put this bag through its paces. Alex gives you a straight-up rundown on what this $198 backpack offers. First off, it comes in classic black, but there’s also a green and a silver version, currently on sale for $149. He likes the green.

You know how it goes—if you’ve already got a black backpack, sometimes it’s better to switch it up a bit. With a green bag in the mix, there’s no mistaking which bag has the diapers, wipes, and pacifiers when you’re dashing out the door.

As for the bag itself, it’s not short on features. This 17-liter pack has 11 pockets, including zippered mesh pockets, bottle holders, and even a zip pocket up top. It’s lined with water-repellent polyester, making it easy to wipe clean—because you’re not tossing this thing in the washing machine.

It also includes a removable changing mat and a crossbody bag you can stash inside or use solo when you don’t need the full loadout.

Alex found the stroller clips and slide-through luggage strap useful for parents on the go. Still, he mentions a few downsides. There’s no waterproof pocket, so it won’t fully protect against leaks, and there’s no insulated pocket for milk storage. If you need these features, you may have to carry an extra bag or use a separate cooler for bottles.

The Lululemon New Parent Backpack will ensure you never forget important baby essentials and have a bag that matches your outfit.

The pockets and easy-to-carry design will empower you to do your dad duties and whatever else you have on your agenda. It might be worth checking out if you’re looking for something that feels like an everyday gym bag but prepped for your new life.
